STRATEGIC GOALS

Research

Through our core process of applied research, we promote innovation and lay the foundation for the (further) development of our educational offers. In collaboration with leading partners from industry and science, we develop innovative approaches in the IMC research focus areas to jointly advance forward-looking projects.

We cultivate a research mindset characterised by curiosity and multidisciplinary cooperation. With targeted research landmarks of international significance, we are increasing our visibility, strengthening our impact and consolidating our position as a partner to industry.

Over the next 10 years, we will secure three patents, establish three Josef Ressel Centres and launch a doctoral programme (IMC Doctoral School).

Goal 4: Expansion of research funding through third-party funds and contract research

We aim to finance and further expand our research priorities in the long term by successfully acquiring national and international funding and through contract research.

In doing so, we rely on sustainable partnerships with industry, academic institutions and funding organisations to ensure continuous financing and establish landmarks in research.

Goal 5: Increase in output of applied research

The research results of our scientists provide innovative solutions for business and society, form the basis for new funding applications, patents, products and spin-offs, and are incorporated into our educational programmes.

In addition, they are published in renowned peer-reviewed journals and presented at international scientific conferences.

Goal 6: Establishing and further developing landmarks in research

Our goal is to establish outstanding research areas as “landmarks in research” that make IMC Krems the first point of contact both within the scientific community and for potential business partners.

These landmarks are strengthened by the work of our experienced scientists and young researchers. The planned doctoral programme (IMC Doctoral School) will focus on the topics of the research landmarks.

The Institute Krems Bioanalytics (IKB) is in demand worldwide as a leading clinical research organisation and creates synergies within the Department of Science & Technology.
